camera vocabulary

View finder: a device on a camera used for framing and focusing the picture
Memory card: a flat drive used in digital cameras and phones
Auto focus: an optical device for focusing a camera
Film forma: a technical definition of a set of characteristics regarding image capture


 aperture: a space which light passes through
shutter: a mechanical device for opening and closing the aperture of a camera lens to expose film or the like
exposure: exposed to contact with something
depth of field: distance between the nearest and the furthest objects that give an image judged to be in focus in a camera
F-stop: In optics, the f-number
focal length: The distance between the center of a lens or curved mirror and its focus
